Spravato is a wonderful tool for treating a variety of mental health concerns, not the least of which is Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) and Treatment-Resistant Depression (TRD). Making sure you receive the proper dose of your Spravato medication is paramount to you feeling that the treatment is successful and effective. When it comes to dosing, patients must receive the right amount of Spravato within the right time frame. During your first four weeks of treatment, referred to as the induction phase, you will receive Spravato twice per week. After four weeks, you will enter the maintenance phase of your treatment, in which you will receive your dose of Spravato once per week. This phase lasts until week nine, where you will enter a schedule of receiving a dose every two weeks or once weekly, depending on your particular level of need. Many patients are given a dose of Spravato between 56mg and 84mg, but your dose will depend on your specific needs and reactions to the treatment.
Each Spravato treatment has a mandatory post-administration observation session, requiring you to remain in our office for at least two hours after receiving your dose of Spravato. During this period, we provide a comfortable place for you to rest and relax as you are observed. If you have a negative reaction, our knowledgeable providers will be nearby.
You deserve to feel like your treatment is working. If you experience MDD or TRD and your traditional psychiatric treatments do not yield the relief you desire, it may be time to consider Spravato.
